Privacy Policy

Warscribe ("Warscribe", "we", "us") makes free companion apps for tabletop Warhammer games: army list builders and live battle trackers for Age of Sigmar, Warhammer 40,000, Spearhead, The Old World and Path to Glory. We built them to be local-first: your data lives on your own device, you don't need an account, and there are no ads and no third-party trackers. This policy explains the small amount of data that does leave your device, and why.

Data stored on your device

Your army lists, settings and in-game tracking are stored locally on your device (in your browser's storage, or the app's local storage). This data stays on your device and is never sent anywhere unless you choose to use Cloud Sync (below). You can clear it at any time by clearing the app's or browser's storage.

No analytics or usage tracking

We do not run any analytics, usage statistics or visit tracking. There is no third-party analytics script, no advertising ID, no device fingerprint and no telemetry about which armies or units you use. The only data that ever leaves your device is what you choose to send: optional Cloud Sync and feedback (both below).

Cloud Sync (optional)

Cloud Sync is off by default. If you turn it on, your saved lists, game history and settings are stored on our servers so you can sync them across your devices. To do this we use:

We do not require or collect your name, email address or a password for sync. You can stop syncing at any time by turning Cloud Sync off, and you can ask us to delete your synced data by emailing the address below.

Feedback you send us

If you choose to send feedback or a bug report from inside an app, we receive the message you write, along with basic technical context that helps us reproduce the problem: your browser and operating system, the app version, the screen you were on, your approximate region (country), and any screenshots you choose to attach. This is used solely to investigate and fix issues, and is stored in our issue tracker (hosted on GitHub). Please don't include personal information in feedback you don't want us to see.

Hosting, logs and processors

Our sites, apps and sync service are hosted on Cloudflare (including a Cloudflare database for Cloud Sync), and feedback is stored on GitHub. As is standard for any website, our hosting provider may briefly process technical request data such as IP addresses for security and reliability; we do not use this to identify you or build a profile, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Children

Warscribe is a general-audience tool for tabletop gamers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Because the apps are local-first and we don't hold an account for you, the simplest controls are in your hands: clear local data on your device, and turn Cloud Sync on or off. For data held by Cloud Sync or in feedback, you can ask us to access or delete it by contacting us, and we'll do our best to help. See Delete your data for step-by-step instructions.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the apps evolve. We'll change the "last updated" date above when we do, and significant changes will be reflected here.
